Feeder or killer

I purchased the Electronic Rat Killer. It was fully charged and baited before being placed in a dry environment. I am now convinced that the product I have is a rodent feeder rather than a rodent killer. I have yet to remove any evidence of a kill but have rebaitrd the device multiple times. I have in the past few days emailed [****] but to date I have about as much success as my rodent killing. I am looking for a purchae rebate. Even a one star is a bonus because I can't offer a negative rating

works as promised. fit for purpose

Living on a lane between 4 farms, we are very used to rats and mice and it's an ongoing battle to keep numbers down. We don't like snap-traps because these can injure birds and, although we use poison occasionally, we feel this could be accidentally ingested by hedgehogs hence are always on the lookout for alternatives such as this mouse/rat trap/zapper, particularly for indoor use.The trap measures 24x10x10cm, has an open 'cheese' door to one end and as the rat/mouse enters it lands on a metal plate which triggers an electric shock. However, the rat must be tempted into the trap which is the hard part. In our experience, rats are intelligent and devoid of a death wish making them highly suspicious of the trap so we left it baited but switched off to try to build the rats' confidence then set it. With PIR camera traps set up to observe, we found the rats were initially suspicious, sniffed it, eventually climbed on it, grabbed tempting treats from its entrance but refused to set paw inside. Used inside a shed, we managed to entice three mice inside and the trap dealt with these effectively then it was easy to dispose of the the corpses which slid out.Charging is via USB using its supplied lead. For convenience, the yellow end section can be removed by lifting it upwards off the trap body so there is no need to handle or remove the full unit from its in-use position, thereby also risking adding human scent to it. The recharging section then clips back into place again for use and a full charge is said to have sufficient power to administer 20 shocks. In real life, rats/mice don't tend to hop inside on cue for testing but we have been keeping it charged, watching and waiting with the rat zapper positioned against one of the rats' runway wall until, at last, catching our first rat today. This was just a small youngster but was found thoroughly zapped and disposal was easy without any unpleasantness. We are persisting with trying to catch our two larger rats and now positioning it in a largely inaccessible area on one of their routine runways and wait in hope. The fact this trap takes time to trap rats is not a fault of the trap but a reflection of our rats' death-avoidance instincts but we know it works effectively as proven by the mice. It may be some time before we can confirm rat success. overall, the trap is doing its job.
